Hempen began as an idea – to form a resilient rural community centred around the cultivation of hemp. We’d heard that this miracle plant could do so much, clothe us, house us, fuel us, feed us and heal us. So we wanted to practically work with hemp in a holistic, ethical and regenerative way.
Our mission is to co-operatively cultivate hemp solutions to enhance the health of the people, our communities and the land.
In 2015 Hempen was established as a not-for-profit worker’s co-operative. The first seeds of hemp were sown in a 30 acre field and the first tender sprouts of community started to show.
The story of a hemp crop of hope travelled far and wide and brought people with the same dreams together. Some of those first arrivals are still here today. Many more continue to visit.
Seed to jar
Step one
It starts with a blend of our broad spectrum Organic CBD Oil and our raw, full spectrum Organic Cold Pressed CBD Oil.
Step two
The blend is infused into raw, unpasteurised organic coconut oil. Three certified organic ingredients, and nothing else.
Step three
Every batch is independently lab tested, then sealed in a glass jar with a metal cap. Keep it somewhere cool and dark.
Just three certified organic ingredients: our full spectrum Organic Cold Pressed CBD Oil, our broad spectrum Organic CBD Oil, and raw, unpasteurised organic coconut oil. Nothing else is added.
Only the strength. Both come in the same 110ml jar with the same three ingredients. The 1000mg has twice the CBD in every spoonful, so you use less of it for the same amount of CBD.
Part of the blend is our full spectrum Cold Pressed CBD Oil, which keeps the range of compounds found naturally in hemp and can include trace amounts of THC. These are tiny amounts, within UK legal limits, and every batch is lab tested to confirm it. It won’t get you high. If you’re subject to workplace drug testing, it’s worth checking with your employer before using any full spectrum product.
On skin, warm a little between your fingertips and smooth it on until absorbed. If it’s your first time, try a small patch first. To take it, stir a small measured amount into a hot drink, following the serving guidance on the label. The Food Standards Agency advises healthy adults to limit CBD from food to 10mg a day. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, speak to your doctor before use.
That’s completely natural. Coconut oil melts in the warmth and firms up in the cold, and it doesn’t affect the product. Store it somewhere cool and dark, or in the fridge, and give it a stir if it has separated.
