For more information and prices, have a look at our delivery and returns policy here. We choose not to ship outside of neighbouring Western and Northern Europe to stay true to our local ethos and roots.
Can I return something?
We produce high quality products that we hope you’ll love. If for some reason you would like to return an item, please review our Returns & Refunds policy. Provided that the item is returned unopened in the condition it was received, we offer refunds within 30 days of purchase.
What do you sell?
Hemp and CBD products. Hemp is an amazingly versatile plant, believed to have over 25,000 known uses! We focus on the nutrition, health and well-being uses of hemp.
Recent changes in Home Office regulations mean we are no longer able to sell our leaf tea, however we do still sell hemp stem tea. Due to processing and manufacturing constraints, we are not currently selling our hemp seed.
How are Hempen products made?
Hempen is a worker co-operative. Together, we grow hemp (when allowed by the Home Office!) and create organic, pure and high quality CBD supplements, moisturising oils and hemp superfoods, on organic certified farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Oxfordshire.
Having control over the end-to-end process from seed to shelf, means we can guarantee unparalleled quality of our products. They’ll always be produced from 100% organic hemp – UK-grown wherever possible – non-GMO, free of pesticides, heavy metals and synthetic cannabinoids.
Will you be selling different types of products soon?
One day, hemp will be in so many products it will be hard to find one that doesn’t have it in! Well, that’s our dream, anyway. For now, here at Hempen we’re concentrating on expanding the products we already have, in our CBD, Food and Cosmetics ranges. That said, at the farm we’re always thinking about new products, and are currently testing some of our ideas out, including edible treats. We’d love to be producing textiles, paper, packaging, buildings and all sorts – and we’re working towards it each day!
Where can I buy Hempen products?
Direct from us via our online shop, at one of our events or markets, or at a local stockist. If you are a retailer and would like to contact us about stocking our range of hemp goodies, please check here for details.
Are you going to be at any events?
You can find a calendar, showing all our upcoming food shows, farmers’ markets and other events here.
Are your hemp and CBD products organic, vegan and/or gluten free?
Yes, yes and yes!
All of our products are certified organic by Organic Farmers & Growers. Containing no animal derivatives, we are proud to be a vegan brand. In fact, hemp seed – with its range of omega essential fatty acids – is a better alternative to eating fish! It’s also really high in protein. As we see it, the growth of hemp supports the growth of the vegan movement.
Hemp does not contain gluten, and we are in the process of becoming certified gluten free.
Are your hemp and CBD products suitable for celiacs?
Our hemp plants grow in fields near fields of other crops, so we unfortunately cannot guarantee that there won’t be minor trace amounts of gluten. For this reason, we do not advise our products for people who are celiac.
What is CBD?
You can find out lots of information about CBD here.
Is CBD legal?
In the UK, CBD is perfectly legal and safe to use. CBD has no known side effects and is not addictive. It is legal to import and buy CBD in the UK, but it is not legal to produce CBD from hemp grown in the UK. Read more about this at saveUKCBD.org.
Does it have THC in it? Will it get me high?
THC is a psychoactive substance, found naturally in the Cannabis plant. It is illegal in the UK. We are licensed by the UK government to grow hemp – strains of the Cannabis sativa plant that are very low in THC (less than 0.2%). This means you won’t feel any psychoactive effects, and none of our products will get you ‘high’. All our CBD products are lab tested to ensure the finest quality and that we always meet government regulations.
What can I use it for?
Our CBD products are sold as ‘supplements’ and we are unable to give any medical advice regarding their usage. Please read the info provided with each product in our online CBD shop. Lots of studies are taking place into the many potential benefits of CBD, and there is a wealth of information available online, including peer-reviewed scientific studies. We recommend doing your own research, and provide some information as a starting point here.
Advice on Growing and Processing hemp
I am setting up/would like to set up a business growing hemp/producing hemp products. Can I ask your advice?
Definitely. We support the growth of the global hemp movement and offer a consultancy service to help others learn from our experience. For more information, please send us some details about you/your company and what kind of support or advice you need, to infoREMOVE@hempen.co.uk. We are particularly keen to support other co-operatives.
Visiting the farm
Can I come and see your farm?
Absolutely. We welcome volunteers all year round for anything from a day visit to two weeks with accommodation. Take a look at our volunteering page for more information, and to apply. Please note, we work Monday-Friday and we don’t accept new volunteers just for a weekend.
I filled in your volunteer form but haven’t heard anything back. What should I do?
Bear with us! We get a lot of requests, we will get back to you via email.
Would I be able to use your farm as a case study for school/university work?
Yes very much so, we see it as a trade. Please fill in a volunteer form and let us know what skills you have. Please provide a written explanation of what exactly you would like to research and why. It would be ideal for you to come volunteer on the farm for a few day visits if you live nearby, or come and stay for a short period – from 3 days to two weeks. As you offer your skills and help us onsite, in the office or outdoors on the farm, we will share our knowledge with you. We also ask for a written promise to share your finished work with us on completion.
