Hemp, CBD Products & Testing Policy
Each product containing CBD is linked to the correct up-to-date laboratory report, and organic certification that we keep on record. We take pride in innovating new CBD products and ensure our product quality by carrying out and securing independent laboratory testing on all our products. We want to guarantee that our products are organic, clean and pure throughout production processes, as well as being exact and transparent about the profile and strength of cannabinoids present in your products.
At a minimum, each batch of “CBD Oil” that we purchase is supported by a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) to prove the CBD, THC, residual and microbial levels to ensure our customer’s safety. These have been tested by HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) which is the best analytical method for hemp oil. As a second layer of quality reassurance, we have laboratory reports to illustrate the spectrum of cannabinoids contained in the oil, for each type of oil, that we produce or purchase.
Correct Amount of CBD
We ensure each product has the correct weight of CBD measured as per ‘mg’ as this is an exact way to communicate the strength of your product. Often the industry standard is to use percentages, though this can be very unclear of the strength of the oil. All our products clearly state the minimum weight of CBD in the item. For example, 500mg CBD Oil in a 10ml dropper would have minimum CBD weight 500mg in that product, plus all the other full or board spectrum compounds, a 5% Oil.
CBD is just one of the prevalent Cannabinoids present in our oils. Cannabinoids are cannabis-derived molecules, contributing to the main health-benefiting properties found in CBD products.
As a business that has been pioneering UK CBD since 2016, we blend a range of oils in our production laboratory facility ‘we call it Prod’ on our home farm, in Oxfordshire. Being a small producer, this means we make small batches by hand according to demand. For this reason, to give our customers the most transparency that we can achieve, we also do quarterly third-party laboratory tests to quality check CBD levels. Please be aware that due to the nature of this beautiful natural plant extraction and hand-blended process, CBD levels can have a variance of +/- 0.5%.
Full & Broad Spectrum Products
We believe in the power of the whole plant, as nature intended. All the natural constituents of the plant work together to create the entourage effect, this includes the natural cannabinoids found in the plant, terpenes, flavonoids, phytonutrients and chlorophyll. In reality, the quality comes from the totality of the plant, not a single component such as CBD alone. We do not believe that isolated compounds are effective.
As a consequence, we supply certified organic produce with natural levels of cannabinoids alongside strength variations of CBD to cater for different needs. We supply full spectrum & broad spectrum oils which align with our values of whole plant power whilst remaining within UK regulations.
Request A Record
As a customer, you may request to confirm the exact certificate to match your product batch. You can email info@hempen.co.uk, detailing which CoA you require. Please let us know which product you are referring to and the BBE (batch code) on your product so that we can allocate the correct CoA.
What you can expect from us…
We use independent laboratories that meet international standards, for all our product testing. Our products are tested for aflatoxins, residual chemicals and heavy metals to ensure their purity, as the health and well-being of our customers is of paramount importance. Our products are made under the strictest hygiene criteria and should arrive to you sealed.
To ensure that our products contain the correct amount of CBD, we regularly carry out tests as part of quality control practises. The quantity of CBD in each product is printed on the packaging.
