After our first The Hemp Fair last year, our vision grew bigger; we are calling growers, farmers, landowners, seed specialists, herbalists, students, researchers, health practitioners, makers and all those in the hemp industry for a conference day here on our farm. A chance to meet with other hemp pioneers, professionals, enthusiasts & build solutions for a fertile future.

What’s it all about?

The food system is perishing, the soil is suffering. We need real regenerative organic and sustainable solutions, we believe that’s hemp!

Hempen Organic has been cultivating organic hemp since 2015. Our collective and friends have been on a mission to seek wider support for hemp’s position as a key agricultural crop in the UK. We cannot do this alone, we want to work with a network of hemp growers, producers and businesses to revive hemp to be a thriving agricultural crop once again. Currently, we are in a weird 100-year blip in the long history of hemp cultivation. Hempen has been approached, supported by and has sought partnerships with pioneer organic, agroforestry and biodynamic farmers and landowners to revive this ancient and holistic crop as more people become aware of hemp’s multitude of benefits.

Hempen cultivates organic hemp for the benefit of the land, its people and to bring back a sense of local production and community. We are part of a growing hemp movement, we look forward to hosting hemp events to encourage and share knowledge of hemp cultivation.

In this meeting we will discuss the importance of cultivating hemp as part of a crop rotation, organic cultivation and benefits of hemp for the soil. Followed by an introduction to the formation of the Hemp Growers Guild.

For the afternoon there will be break-out sessions. One with regard to sharing information with those who are reviving hemp fibre for textiles and natural material industries. Another for sharing insight into hemp cultivation for natural construction and material cultures. The third session will be to discuss the legalities of hemps healing properties as food, and share current developments in producing hemp seed products.

With time allocated to have the space to network.

Hempen is located in the beautiful organic community of the Hardwick Estate. Follow the little one way farm track that leads to Hempen. Our farm is made up of a small cottage, gardens, polytunnel, large agricultural barn and business premises that produce our organic hemp & CBD products.

Who is it for?

We are inviting you growers, farmers, landowners, seed specialists, students, researchers, herbalists, health practitioners and all those working in the hemp industry sector.

Important info

There are limited tickets for this event, with a maximum of 50 people. Over 18’s only. In order for us to prepare appropriately, please BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE.

We have a small track and field for parking, and for environmental reasons we encourage you to walk/cycle/lift share as much as possible, it’s also a great way to make friends before you get here! LIFT SHARE DOC.

It’s a 50 min walk or 30 min bike cycle from Pangbourne Station / 37 min walk or 15/20 mins bike cycle from Whitchurch. There is a hill on Path Hill 😉

Bring cash because the internet is temperamental on the farm!

There are compost toilets on site.

If you’re a family, you’re welcome to bring children, though we will not be providing a children’s space. When the meetings are on, we are located next to woods and wonderful nature to explore for the little ones if you wanted to take them for walks.

Keep dogs on leads, and you’re responsible for cleaning up after them. Please keep a distance from children & any children’s spaces.

Accessibility

As it’s a farm site, bear in mind that the ground here is uneven. We only have a few solid paths, instead we have lots of woodchip and grass paths. However, we do have an accessible compost toilet. Please let us know if you have any specific needs as you arrive.
