What is Hemp Seed Oil?
Organic Hemp Seed Oil is made by cold pressing the whole hemp seeds. Our products are certified organic and grown as locally as possible, which means they are of a high quality and contain more nutrients. The cold press extracts the oil by pressing the hemp seeds under weight, with no heat added, to preserve all the raw nutrients. This is 100% Organic Hemp Seed Oil, completely pure, natural and full of goodness. It’s a deliciously rich oil, to be frank we pour a little oil over on daily meals to ensure we receive its impressive nutrients and minerals, and because it’s a beautiful oil. It can even be used as a health supplement by taking a teaspoon or tablespoon every day, so gone are the days of cod liver oil tablets!

Hemp Seed Oil for health?
And within that hemp oil… There are so many wonderful things.
Hemp seeds are full of essential fatty acids that are not produced by the body, including omega-6 and omega-3 in the optimal ratio of 3:1. There’s even some omega-9 in there too. Hemp oil actually contains more Omega 3 and 6 than fish oil, so it’s great for those on a vegan diet or anyone who prefers an alternative to cod liver oil, it’s also lower in saturated fat than other plant-based oils.
It’s packed with vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as carotene (an antioxidant). This means it’s as good for the outside of you, as a moisturiser, as it is for the inside of you. It also contains things called phytosterols, phospholipids and minerals including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc and folate. Chlorophyll gives the oil its light green colour, which has been shown to have antioxidant properties.
How do I use it?
This oil has a distinctive rich nutty flavour, perfect on its own in fact! As it’s a raw product with delicate nutrients and minerals, it’s best poured over dishes, or over warm meals. You could replace other cold-pressed oils for Hemp Seed Oil, for salads, over bread, pestos, dips and more. It is not recommended for frying or deep-frying because of its high content of unsaturated fats. Heating the oil above 120 °C will affect all the good things inside it. Hence, why the oil is cold-pressed, raw and extra virgin, to keep hold of all its nutrients by not adding heat, though it is great poured over hot meals. You can also take a teaspoon or two a day for an easy way to get all the nutritional benefits. Those that run marathons say they take a tablespoon a day.
Find ways to incorporate this oil into your recipes as a flavour enhancer and source of valuable nutrients. Use it in cold sauces add to dips like hummus, use as the main oil in a pesto with herbs or try it in a cold marinade overnight with vegetables. It’s especially rich in salad dressings with mustard and balsamic. Add a splash to boost your smoothies! It’s also a great alternative to olive oil, butter, spreads and fish oils.
How to store it?
Best stored in the fridge or dark cupboard to ensure the nutrients are preserved, it’s also great to when consumed cold. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Not suitable for infants under 12 months, they’ll just have to be patient.
Hemp Seed Oil or Hemp Oil? What’s the difference?
Hemp Seed Oil is derived from the Whole Hemp Seeds. Often people refer to Hemp Oil as any oil made from the hemp plant, including the flower, which produces CBD products, and also for the Hemp Seed Oil. When looking for a Hemp Seed Oil, just ensure it’s made from Whole Seeds and nothing else.
