How to use the CBD Oil droppers?

  1. There is approx. 200 drops in a 10ml bottle.
  2. Give the bottle a good shake before each dose, so the plant matter is evenly distributed.
  3. Drop the desired dosage under the tongue, hold for 60-90 seconds before swallowing.
  4. Use once or twice a day, or as needed.
  5. Start slowly with 5-10mg a day, see how you go and get comfortable taking it. After a couple of days, increase your dose if required.

How to use CBD Coconut Oil?

This CBD Coconut oil can be applied topically, all over your body. When applying the CBD coconut oil, ensure the product is fully absorbed into the skin. You may use it as you would any other coconut oil.

Apply directly onto muscles or joints if using for pain or inflammation, re-applying throughout the day as needed. Each teaspoon contains 46mg of CBD.

Our CBD coconut oil is also able to be rubbed onto your temples, shoulders or feet at night before rest or sleep, or use it as a decadent moisturiser after a soothing bath.

More details of our Organic CBD Coconut Oil here ‘Use CBD for skin as part of your routine’.  Coconut oil is not recommended for daily use on the face if prone to oily skin, however an excellent anti-ageing balm when used regularly.

The CBD coconut oil is best placed in a dark cupboard or even better, in the fridge. You don’t have to refrigerate it but it will keep better if you do! As soon as the oil is rubbed on your skin the heat from your body will melt the oil to be applied and absorbed easily.

Ensure the CBD Coconut Oil is kept cool and out of direct sunlight, that’s where it will be happiest.

We recommend doing your own research on the benefits of this incredible plant-derived supplement. There is a wealth of information available online, however we make no claims concerning the medical application of our products.

Responsible packaging

We source packaging that is compostable, biodegradable, reusable or recyclable so that the packaging is just as ecological as the hemp plant itself. Check Sustainable Eco Cap options – if you purchase a dropper you could then reuse the pipette made of precious materials, choosing to recycle or reuse the metal lid. Advertised eco and bamboo covered pipettes still have the same lid underneath, so we didn’t go for that.

The big questions

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of 100+ Cannabinoid compounds present in each hemp plant, there are over 500+ compounds in the hemp species. This is why a lot of people are talking about hemp, it contains a lot of valuable and complex nutrients. CBD works with our Endocannabinoid System, particularly supporting our stress responses, which are overly stimulated daily. Scientific studies are proving why people use CBD rich products for overall wellbeing and calming effects. Our Organic Cold Pressed CBD Oil & our CBD range contain natural plant based Cannabinoids, known as Phytocannabinoids, to help support our bodies own Cannabinoid production.

The Endocannabinoid System

Recent studies have shown that Cannabinoids are naturally created by the human body, working in harmony with our own internal Endocannabinoid System, close to our Immune and Nervous Systems. In fact, all mammals have an Endocannabinoid System. The function of the Endocannabinoid System is to bring the body into balance, officially called Homeostasis, as it acts as a cell-communication system all over the body. This nourishes our Endocannabinoid System, helping to rejuvenate it over time, especially for those who have a depleted system. Stress, overstimulation and life’s pressures mean our Endocannabinoid Systems are running on overdrive. Plants can feed and support us when we need it, plants that grow in harmony ecologically with mother earth. We rely on this system to function normally and we continue to uncover it’s potential as one of the most important systems for maintaining health, wellness and avoiding major disease. CBD is non-psychoactive, it has calming properties and has undergone a lot of research.

Start slowly with 5-10mg a day, see how you go and get comfortable taking it. After a couple of days, increase your dose if required. The healthy dose is 10mg per day. Use for at least 3 months to give your body time to work with it. Read ‘how much CBD should I take and how often‘ for more hempformation. Project CBD is a great resource for further research too, especially if you have a particular condition, it’s a great place to start. By understanding the correlation between the condition and CBD Oils, you will be able to gain more insight on what could be the correct daily dosage for you.

Why buy Organic CBD Oil?

Organic CBD Oil ensures the quality and high nutritional value of your product. Certified organic products are held to tight regulations, it’s a guarantee that you’re consuming healthy and traceable ingredients. Nothing sneaky or nasty gets in there. Especially when purchasing food to improve your health, organic certification is necessary, as unfortunately it’s become common place for harmful chemicals such as Glyphosate to be used in the production of foods. Organic foods have been cultivated using practices that are more attentive, creating produce that is denser nutritionally and easier for your body to digest, so it’s well worth the investment. In order for a farmer or grower to sell products as organic, we must hold a legal certificate of registration from an approved organic certification body like the Soil Association Certification. There is a cost attached to certification, often making organic products more expensive than products with unknown ingredients. Your purchase therefore supports the vital campaign work to promote organic produce.

Why is Organic Hemp important?

Organic farming practices are designed to respect nature, enhancing the health of soils, water and air, to provide us with quality produce and products. In particular, hemp plants uniquely rebuild soil organic matter whilst they grow in the fields. Hemp is a known bioaccumulater, or bioremediator. The roots draw up and remove toxins present in the soil, therefore it’s vital that our hemp products are grown on organic land, tested and certified. We craft products you can trust. Research is now proving that organic hemp cultivation stores more carbon per hectare than trees! Another good reason to choose organic hemp and CBD! All our products are organic, pure and natural to nourish both people and land.

What is Full Spectrum?

Our Organic Cold Pressed CBD Oil is Full Spectrum. Full Spectrum products mean that all the natural compounds are present. In other words, your product’s haven’t been manipulated to extract or isolate only the one compound, CBD. Therefore, Full Spectrum hemp products contain naturally occurring compounds such as Cannabinoids, Terpenes and Flavonoids. CBD is one of the most powerful compounds found in hemp oils, indicating that there are many other beneficial Cannabinoids present, though you still need to look out for the words Full and Broad Spectrum to ensure you’re getting the best oil. Our CBD products contain Full and Broad Spectrum oils with varying amounts of the other beneficial Cannabinoids.

Beneficial Cannabinoids

Scientists have been studying: CBDA for about a decade, the mother of all Cannabinoids CBG, CBDV typically high in CBD strains of hemp, CBC great for brain function and many more. We are only at the beginning of understanding this highly complex plant. However, hemp only contains trace amounts of THC. We value Full and Broad Spectrum extracts, where some companies choose not to. We understand that when together, hemp compounds act synergistically, creating what’s known as ‘The Entourage Effect’. Evidence suggests using more holistic whole oils are extra effective, our bodies are used to working with them in this form. We have been consuming hemp for thousands of years. So when it comes to the hemp plant, it appears the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. That’s why you should choose Full Spectrum, whole plant products.

We are very proud of our Organic Cold Pressed CBD Oil, it’s been our lead product since our humble beginnings in 2015. Each batch is third-party lab tested to guarantee CBD levels and purity. As a workers’ co-operative we produce all our products down on the farm, from starting off in our big wooden barn to inside our laboratory, which is a converted shipping container. We name it ‘Prod’ short for production.

Sourcing of Organic CBD & Hemp

Hempen Organic is just one part of the organic Hardwick Estate, based in beautiful Oxfordshire. We cultivate organic hemp in partnership with farmers across the British Isle for our Hemp Seed products. Actively we encourage the growth of hemp here, as locally as possible. We source high-quality organic CBD Oil from our partners in Switzerland, as local as possible with shorter supply chains. Other countries are legalising or decriminalising faster, meaning working together, we get to work with the most modern practices in CBD. The UK are slowly understanding the full potential and opportunities that hemp provides, CBD cannot currently be cultivated by farmers in the UK, support our campaign to grow hemp here.

Production & sourcing of Organic CBD

We produce all our products on our farm in Oxfordshire as a worker co-operative. We source high-quality CBD oil from our suppliers in Switzerland, since we are not allowed to cultivate CBD oil from UK grown hemp. To find out why your CBD cannot be cultivated in the UK, read our blog on legislation here and sign up to our newsletter to keep updated on the ever-evolving regulatory regime. Each batch is third-party lab tested to guarantee CBD levels and purity.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of 100+ Cannabinoid compounds present in each hemp plant. There are over 400+ compounds found in hemp plant varieties. CBD Oils have become so excited as they contain a lot of valuable nutrients. Full & Broad Spectrum CBD Oils mean you are gaining all the valuable compounds present and not just isolated CBD.

Recent studies have shown that Cannabinoids are naturally created by the human body, we even create CBD, working in harmony with our own internal Endocannabinoid System, close to our Immune and Nervous Systems. In fact, all mammals have an Endocannabinoid System. The function of the Endocannabinoid System is to bring the body into balance, officially called Homeostasis, as it acts as a cell-communication system all over the body. CBD works with our Endocannabinoid System, particularly supporting our stress responses, which are overly stimulated daily. This science is proving why lots of people use plant based CBD strong products to aid overall wellbeing and calming effects.

Plants are here to support us when we need them. CBD products provide a natural and harmonious plant top-up to aid your mind and body, helping your Endocannabinoid System to function well.

You can find out more information about CBD here.

What can I use CBD for?

CBD rich products are soothing for the mind, heart, and body, bringing a sense of peace to your daily stress responses.

As herbalists, we cannot provide medical advice. Our CBD products promote health, stimulate your own healing, and we can consult when contacted via email at shop@hempen.co.uk or call us O1184 O5OO95.

CBD rich products are sold as ‘cosmetics’ and ‘food supplements’ we are restricted by not being able to give any medical advice regarding Cannabinoid benefits. There are many peer-reviewed studies into the myriad of benefits, this includes anxiety, inflammation, and epilepsy – though more research is needed. We recommend doing your own research online, we share some light on what CBD is here.

Do hemp products contain THC? Will it get me high?

Simply put, hemp is a variety of the Cannabis plant that has been bred to have negligible low levels of THC, which is short for Tetrahydrocannabinol, the more psychoactive compound. Hemp cannot get you high.

Instead, CBD products made from hemp promote other natural beneficial compounds such as Cannabinoids, one being CBD, that are really good for your health. The flower is pressed or extracted into a valuable CBD rich oil with immunity boosting, and calming properties to name but a few. We also mill the stem into a relaxing tea.

Hemp products made from the seeds such as the Whole Hemp Seeds, Hemp Protein Powder and Hemp Oil contain hardly any, trace amounts, of Cannabinoids, however are a superfood in their own right. The mighty seeds contain all the essential amino acids your body needs and does not produce!

UK regulations permit only strains of the Cannabis Sativa plant that are very low in THC (less than 0.01% in products). This means you won’t feel any psychoactive effects, so that means none of our products will get you ‘high’. All our CBD products are independently lab tested to ensure the finest quality and to meet government regulations.

How are Hempen products made?

Hempen is a not-for-profit worker’s co-operative. Our profits are reinvested in our mission, not shareholder pockets, we are led by and owned by our workers.

We consult and partner with farmers across the British Isles to increase the cultivation of hemp. Based on the Hardwick Estate, our farm is part laboratory, part community, part homestead, part educational space, part wellbeing hub that continues to evolve and inspire. Nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Oxfordshire, check out our Hempen Events to visit!

Our worker’s co-op produce and innovate organic products from hemp cosmetics and hemp based superfoods, on organic farmland certified by the Soil Association.

Having control over the end-to-end process, from seed to shelf, means we can guarantee unparalleled quality of our products. They’ll always be produced from 100% organic hemp, non-GMO, free of harmful chemicals, heavy metals and synthetic cannabinoids, supporting UK & British Isles farmers.

Are your hemp and CBD products organic, vegan and/or gluten free?

Yes, yes and yes!

All of our food products are certified organic by the Soil Association. We believe food should be organic and nutritious, especially if you’re seeking products to improve your health.

Hemp is naturally vegan, we are a vegan brand, so all our products are too. In fact, hemp seeds and hemp oil are packed with essential fatty acids including the ‘golden ratio’ of omega 3,6 & 9 great for brain health, it’s the alternative to consuming fish! We use Hemp Seed Oil in all our CBD products. Hemp Seeds, are also a full protein. As we see it, the growth of hemp supports the growth of the vegan movement.

Hemp naturally does not contain gluten, therefore our products are gluten-free! The combine machinery is shared with other plant crops, even though it is cleaned we cannot guarantee use for coeliacs.

Can I come and see your farm?

Absolutely. We welcome volunteers all year round for anything from a day visit to one week with accommodation. Take a look at our volunteering page for more information, and to apply. Please note, we work Monday-Friday. Also check our Hempen Events for a visit!
